Costs of Depositing Data
This section of the web site contains information about
the cost of depositing data with the History Data Service
Currently data accepted by the History Data Service and created as part of
an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) grant can be deposited at no
charge. For other deposits there is a one-off charge which is used to meet the
costs of accession, cataloguing and preserving data. These costs are laid out
in the UK Data Archive Charging Policy.
Where possible, funding agencies, and not individuals, will be encouraged to
provide support for the long-term preservation of data.
